Realization While Reading ACIM

I realized something while listening to a course in miracles....

When you heal someone, you are essentially taking their burden and loving it to death. 
You are saying that your love is stronger than the pain clinging to them and so you take on their pain because you know loving that pain will embrace that pain to nonexistence. 
Instead of the pain hurting the host, you let the pain feel the love of God and return it back to pure energy. 

Your very act of loving it, is enough to release it back into the world as pure energy. 
It’s like taking an abused child that hits and screams at you and hugging the wounded child until the little child finally hugs back. Then the screaming and hitting dissolves into love and all that remains is love. A tender hug, a shoulder to cry on, and the soft touch of a caring and supportive person in their life. 

Love is the answer to dissolving negativity into pure energy. Metaphorically speaking, through love, we transform someone’s darkest demons into some of the holiest angels. We go into the darkest tunnels and bring our biggest torches. We illuminate and love until the area is not as it was before. 

The soul is cleaned from all the muck and dirt and replaced with a spacious and clean living area. Then love sleeps in the soul, comfortable in its new home prepared for it by the healer. 
What a blessing to participate in that healing process.
