Entry #30 - Lesson on Loving Others Deeply

There's a quote out there saying the two greatest things in life is to love and to be loved, and I couldn't agree more.

I believe it's life changing to be loved deeply by others and to cultivate a love so strong for others that it has no borders, no conditions, no expectations. Where you can look at a person and just want to fill them with all the love you've been given, regardless of their race, gender, political views, religion, sexual orientation, etc. Love that simply loves, but nonetheless deeply. When we choose to love others first over everything, it's not only healing for ourselves, but it's incredibly healing for others. To wake up and know you're loved beyond what you can imagine, is goals to the max. As a Christian, the whole gospel is because He loved us, and that should be our foundation based on all that we do. In the Bible, it says:

"Above all, love each other deeply..." - 1 Peter 4:8

"If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing."                                                                                                        - 1 Corinthians 13:2-3

Love should not only be the reason why we do what we do, but it should be completely wrapped in all that we are. We should be overwhelmed with this desire to love all people and all creation.

It's true. You could do things for people but not because you love them, but for other reasons, maybe such as obligation. Yes, you might get something done for them, and it may help the situation, but maybe that's all it can accomplish. However, when you not only do something for someone, but you love them deeply, that love has the power to transform that person in ways you might not even be aware of.

Love is transformative, powerful, life-changing, life-aligning, and amazing. It creates an environment of peace, tranquility, and comfort. Regardless of your job on this earth, I think it'd be best to do whatever you do with love. To desire to feel and cultivate this emotion and be transformed by it and help transform others. You never know what could happen.
